Sunday Worship
At St. George's we believe that all are valued in the eyes of God, regardless of age or background. Our style of Sunday worship attempts to reflect this belief. We have a good mix in terms of gender and age in our congregation. The monthly pattern for Sunday services in the church building is generally as follows:
1st Sunday
9.15am HOLY COMMUNION (Common Worship)
11.00am THE 11 O'CLOCK SERVICE (A more informal worship time) (On certain
Sundays during the year we make this an all-age service)
6.30pm EVENSONG (Book of Common Prayer)
2nd Sunday
9.15am HOLY COMMUNION (Common Worship)
11.00am THE 11 O'CLOCK SERVICE
3rd Sunday
9.15am HOLY COMMUNION (Common Worship)
11.00am THE 11 O'CLOCK SERVICE
4th Sunday
9.15am HOLY COMMUNION (Book of Common Prayer)
11.00am THE 11 O'CLOCK SERVICE & SHORTENED HOLY COMMUNION (Common Worship)
5th Sunday
9.15am HOLY COMMUNION (Common Worship)
11.00am THE 11 O'CLOCK SERVICE
Generally, 9.15 a.m. services generally have organ-led music. At 11.00 a.m. services the music is led by one of our worship bands.
We aim to provide a happy and friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome to all visitors.
Prayer Ministry (for individual healing, or just to receive more of God) is offered to anyone who wants it at our morning services.
We have an active ministry for children aged between 5 & 11 years at St. George's called Dragonslayers. This takes place in the church hall and involves games and quizzes, Bible stories, music, drama, craft and other activities. It is open to all, whether or not parents attend St George's 11 O'Clock Service. Registration takes place at 10.45 am with no charge.
A Crèche and pre-school aged group is also available for the under 5's during the 11.00 a.m. services but parents must be present on St George's site for insurance and Child Protection purposes. All adult leaders are CRB checked.
for young people meets at
